Soil erosion control mat is a new type of geosynthetic material with three-dimensional structure suitable for soil and water conservation, which can effectively prevent soil and water loss, increase green area, and improve the ecological environment. Soil erosion control mat is made of synthetic filament materials tangled together to form a highly deform-able which has a very high porosity. Soil erosion control mat is widely used for road, railway, river, dam, hillside and other protection slopes along the banks of canals and river courses to convey drainage in association with geotextiles or geomembranes. Before the turf grows, the land can be protected from wind and rain. The composite protective layer formed after the plants grow can withstand high water level and high flow velocity scouring. Due to the use of polymer materials and UV anti-ultraviolet stabilizers, soil erosion control mat has higher chemical stability and no pollution to the environment.
Geomat is kind of net patch in three dimensional structure for turf extending. Geomat provides thermal protection and holds water for plantings' germination, and accommodates with green vegetated surface. Its structure is designed for plants growing and for gravels solidation. It is loose and flexible with 95% space left for filling soil, grit and fine stones, gravels, and plant root system can pass through it. So that lants can grow soundly within it. It creats an enough space for drainage and ventilation so that pit provides a good environment fro plants. The grown turf will combine itself hard with net patch and earth surface together. Plant root system can go deep into 30-40cm underground, so a solid green compound protective layer will be built.
